I've thought about the real time investment that I'm making into working in an office, for some jerk offs who don't care if I live or die. Yeah, I really do feel that way about the guys who run my company. If you are in my boat, working 40 hours a week and commuting, we are throwing away MASSIVE quantities of our life down the drain for the furthering of someone else's agenda. Let's do some quick math.
Assuming we work 40 hours per week, and spend 10 hours per week commuting, this is the break down of the time investment that we make over the course of our lives to our “careers.”
50 Hours per week X 50 weeks in a year = 2,500 hours per year
2,500 hours per year / 24 hours in a day = 104 days per year
104 days per year X 45 years = 4,680 Days
4,680 days / 365 days in a year = 12.8 years
That's 12.8 years of our lives dedicated to the profits of other people who don't have our best interests in mind!
Assuming that we are only awake for 16 hours of the day, let's see how much time we loose assuming a 16 hour day.
2,500 hours per year / 16 hours in a day = 156.25 days per year
156.25 days per year X 45 years = 7,031 Days
7,031 Days / 365 Days in a year = 19 years
In this scenario, if we live to be 75, we'll have only lived 56 years of our lives doing what we want for ourselves. Essentially, we'll be dead 9 years before our retirements.
Well I say FUCK THAT! Plans are underway to Escape The Matrix. I suggest you formulate yours as well because this is not a zero sum game.
We have to do something for a living, obviously. But wouldn't we rather it be something that we love? I pass no judgement on someone who has found their calling in a corporate environment. But the truth for most people is that they haven't! Myself included.
And that is the true crime. Any time spent wasting away in an environment that is not of our choosing is unacceptable and a change must be made....and soon! Life is too short.
Come with me. Let's break the chains of this mediocrity and monontany, find what we love, and move on! Enough of this modern slavery. Enough of being herded to and from our offices in traffic like cattle. Enough waiting for the weekend for an opportunity to get drunk, waste away watching sports, or mowing lawns. Enough of not living!
As one of my favorite authors, Ori Hauffmakler says: "If you're not living consciously, you are dying unconsciously."

Confession Of A Cube Dweller
Over the last several months I have started to realize something:
I did not design my life.
Upon that realization, it has become more and more difficult for me to go to my job everyday, working to fulfill the dreams and desires of a few people who sit up in an ivory tower. I watch as they pay us slaves with white collars just enough so that we won't quit, feed us cupcakes once a week to keep us satiated, and jerk us around like pawns in their market wide chess game.
I don't have the resources to leave, just yet. But I am on my way out. And as I see more and more of the truth about this fucked up game of stick and carrot for what it really is, I'll be writing about it.
So if you are one of those average chumps living in the land of mediocrity, blindly following the leader, clamoring for your chance at glory and riches, I hope my blog really pisses your sorry average ass off. I hope you fucking hate me. And I hope that I make you angry enough to start questioning the truth about what you are being fed.
So feel free to jump on this train and take a ride through the land of the cubicle people that you haven't taken before and let's see this system for what it really is.
